I've been wanting to rip up the carpet in our living room since we looked at the house. I've been urging Vince to pick a weekend to start the project, but he has been hesitant to do it. This weekend we decided we would go grab a couple of carpet samples, to see what we liked for area rugs, for when we finally got the carpet out! Well... one thing led to another and our carpet was ripped up. I just couldn't help myself, I just needed to see what we had under there. And luckily we were delighted with the result.
As you see, we did it the "lazy man's" way without much preparation, thought, without removing furniture, etc...... which never ends up being less work.. But the excitement of finding out what was underneath the carpet, just overtook us and we started and didn't look back. Now we aren't quite sure what we've gotten ourselves into or how exactly we will finish this project, but I'm happy that it is now at least started.
